Half share box: Napa cabbage, Broccoli, Carrots, Patty Pan or Summer Squash, Beans and Red Tropea Onions
I’m writing this newsletter solo from the picnic tables at Rocky Creek. Enjoying the hazy day! I got to make the CSA flower bouquets this week without a ‘recipe’. My creative juices were flowing and made extras for sale for those of you who don’t subscribe! This week the farm crew harvested tons, and I mean TONS, of cabbage, we have almost have the apple press ready for cider pressing (which will commence on the 22nd), and farm camp is winding down as farm school is being planned. Another project of mine has been dialing in our online market stand and instagram account ( @gvb_rcf) so that all the #farmlife can come straight to you.
With the variety of produce in this box, you might be at a creative halt in what to make. Not to worry because I have two delicious recipes for you! My go to on hot summer days for easy picnic meals or just exhausted from the heat are raw spring roll wraps. A simple soy sauce for dipping would pair great, but I love peanut butter so I go for the peanut sauce. https://cookieandkate.com/fresh-spring-rolls-recipe/ Some of the boxes will get patty pans, a new squash to me last year, I love to whip this recipe up on the grill or campfire. Throw the ingredients in some foil and wrap shut. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/garlic-herb-pattypan-squash/
