First off, this is Jacy, and I’ll say I’m very sorry for the lack of Newsletters the last two weeks. Emma left to go back to school and I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to get to write the newsletters for a few weeks, I really miss writing them, sharing recipes and finding something about the farm to share with you. Turns out there is a reason I delegate this task! There is just not enough time in my days running the farm, so I am happy to write this week (still very late!!) and then next week, the week of October 9th-14th will be the last week of our Summer CSA! I promise I will pass it off to a more timely farmer around here for the last newsletter next week!

So this week we are getting ready for Fall Fest around the farm and you may have noticed it being a bit busier. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we will have a lot more traffic here as our community comes to get their cider and pumpkins. If you would like to visit, you can make a free Fall Festival Reservation on our website.

We are getting lots of Winter Storage Crops out of the field- the potatoes, garlic, onions, and winter squash are tucked into storage, and we are starting to work on the carrots, beets, parsnips and other roots. We also have the cucumber house turned over and planted with Kale, Chard, and Herbs, and the outside mobile houses have a great stand of Spinach coming up. That means I feel comfortable putting the Winter CSA on sale and knowing we can feed you all into the first weeks of 2024! So If you are interested, Winter CSA is now for sale on the website. It starts the first week of November and lasts until the last week of January. See www.gallatinvalleybotanical.com for details. One other CSA option includes Whole Farm CSA starting February 1st, reach out for details.

We hope to see some of you this Winter, and thanks for joining us this summer!
